A striking, clump-forming perennial known for its exotic orange and blue flowers that resemble a bird in flight.

Light: Best in full sun, but also grows well in light shade. More flowers are produced in sunny spots.

Soil: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil enriched with compost. Tolerates sandy and loamy soils.

Watering: Moderate. Water regularly during the growing season; drought-tolerant once established. Avoid waterlogging.

Temperature: Thrives in warm, frost-free climates. Can survive light frost but may need protection in colder areas.

Growth Habit: Forms dense clumps of upright, banana-like leaves. Grows 1–1.5 m tall and wide.

Flowering: Flowers mainly in winter to spring, sometimes into summer, with vibrant, bird-like blooms.

Care: Low-maintenance. Remove old leaves and spent flower stalks to keep the plant tidy. Divide clumps every few years if overcrowded.
