Jasminum mesnyi (Primrose Jasmine)
Short Description
A vigorous evergreen shrub with arching stems and cheerful yellow flowers in late winter and spring, ideal for banks, trellises, and informal hedges.
Full Description
Jasminum mesnyi, commonly known as Primrose Jasmine, is a fast-growing, sprawling evergreen shrub valued for its masses of bright yellow, semi-double flowers that appear from late winter into spring. Unlike many jasmines, the blooms are generally not fragrant, but they provide a welcome splash of colour when few other plants are flowering. Its long, arching branches can be trained over walls, trellises, or allowed to cascade naturally, making it excellent for informal gardens and erosion control.
