Description
Light: Full sun to bright light for the richest purple color—perfect for balconies, hanging baskets, or ground cover. It tolerates partial shade but gets leggier and less vibrant.
Water: Drought-tolerant once established; water moderately (let soil dry out between waterings). Overwatering leads to rot, especially in pots.
Soil: Well-drained—mix potting soil with some sand/perlite if needed.
Growth: Trails beautifully (great for pots, edges, or as groundcover). Pinch tips to keep it bushy and propagate easily from cuttings (they root in water super fast!).
Flowering: Small, delicate pink/purple flowers appear mostly in summer (spring to fall in warm spots), though the foliage is the real star. In our mild winters, it can keep going longer with occasional blooms.
It’s low-maintenance, attracts pollinators with those tiny flowers, and propagates like crazy—ideal for beginners or filling space quickly.
