🌿 Growing Conditions: Lemon Button Fern
Botanical Name: Nephrolepis cordifolia ‘Duffii’
Common Name: Lemon Button Fern
Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Tolerates medium to low light, making it ideal for indoor spaces.
Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the delicate fronds.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged.
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels slightly dry.
Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
Humidity
Enjoys high humidity (50%+).
Mist regularly or place near a humidifier to keep fronds lush.
Great for bathrooms or kitchens with natural humidity.
Temperature
Thrives in 18–24°C.
Protect from cold drafts and avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Soil
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix.
A fern mix or indoor plant mix enriched with organic matter works well.
Feeding
Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser.
No feeding needed in winter.
Growth & Habit
Compact, bushy fern reaching 20–30 cm tall.
Produces small, round “button” fronds with a subtle lemon scent when crushed.
Care Tips
Remove any yellow or dry fronds to encourage healthy new growth.
Avoid placing near heaters or air conditioners which dry out the air.
Repot every 1–2 years to refresh soil and maintain growth.
