## Kohleria eriantha (Woolly Kohleria)
A striking, tropical gem from Colombia belonging to the African Violet family. Known for its plush, velvet-textured leaves and vibrant, speckled blooms, this plant is a must-have for indoor collectors and shade-garden enthusiasts alike.
### Quick Care Guide
* **Light:** Bright, indirect light. Protect from harsh, direct midday sun.
* **Water:** Keep soil evenly moist but well-drained. **Water from the base** to avoid wetting the hairy leaves, which can cause spotting.
* **Soil:** Fast-draining, airy mix (like an African Violet soil amended with plenty of perlite).
* **Temperature:** Keep warm (above 15°C). It may go dormant and die back to the soil in cold winters, resprouting from its underground rhizomes in spring.
### Collector Appeal
* **Unique Texture:** The entire plant is covered in fine, plush reddish hairs, giving it an unmistakable “woolly” look.
* **Niche & Rare:** Seldom found in mass commercial garden centers, making it a highly sought-after item for collector circles.
* **Prolific Blooms:** Rewards growers with bright orange-red, tube-shaped flowers heavily speckled with yellow inside.
> **Quick Tip:** Pinch back the growing tips in spring to encourage a bushier, more compact shape with way more flower clusters!
