Duranta ‘Sapphire Showers’ – A Stunning Cascade of Purple Blooms

Duranta ‘Sapphire Showers’ is a fast-growing, evergreen shrub or small tree known for its cascading clusters of deep purple, trumpet-shaped flowers edged in white. A magnet for butterflies and sugar birds, this eye-catching beauty adds year-round color and texture to gardens.

Growing Conditions:

Sunlight: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. More sun encourages heavier flowering.

Soil: Prefers well-draining, fertile soil but adapts to various soil types.

Watering: Moderate watering; drought-tolerant once established but benefits from regular moisture.

Temperature: Loves warm climates and is semi-hardy to light frost. Protect young plants in cold areas.

Growth Habit: Grows 1.5m – 3m tall, with a sprawling, arching form. Can be pruned into a hedge, small tree, or trained as a cascading feature.

Maintenance: Prune regularly to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth. Occasional feeding with a balanced fertilizer boosts flowering.
