Water deeply 2-3 times weekly during active growth, providing 25-40mm per week; reduce significantly in winter when tubers are dormant

Rich, well-draining loam with added compost and coarse sand; pH 6.5-7.0

10–30°C (frost-tender; tubers must be lifted in areas with winter frost below 0°C)
