Growing Conditions
SUNLIGHT
Full sun, minimum 6-8 hours direct sunlight daily
WATERING
Water deeply twice weekly during establishment, then once weekly; reduce to fortnightly once established; prefers to dry out between waterings
SOIL TYPE
Well-draining sandy loam or loam with moderate fertility; tolerates poor soils but avoid heavy clay
TEMPERATURE
5–35 °C (tolerates light frost but performs best above 10 °C)
HUMIDITY
Low to moderate; tolerates dry conditions well and prefers good air movement
FERTILISING
Apply slow-release balanced fertiliser (3:1:5) once in early spring; over-fertilising reduces flowering

Fast – reaches flowering size within 8-10 weeks from planting, blooms continuously from spring through autumn

The ‘Uptick Yellow and Red’ cultivar produces bicolour flowers where the red pigmentation intensifies in cooler temperatures, meaning the same plant displays predominantly yellow blooms in midsummer heat but develops striking crimson centres and edges during cooler spring and autumn months.
