Aglaonema ‘Golden Spoon’
Sun: Bright, indirect light to partial shade. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering in cooler months.
Soil: Rich, well-draining potting mix with good organic matter.
Height: ±40–60 cm.
Width: ±30–50 cm.
Growth: Slow to moderate-growing, compact and upright.
Features: Attractive golden-yellow and green foliage; excellent indoor plant; tolerant of lower-light conditions and relatively low maintenance.
Indigenous: No – native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia.
Edible: No. Keep away from pets and children, as Aglaonema contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic if chewed or ingested.
Care: Keep in a warm, humid position away from cold draughts and air conditioners. Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during active growth.
Frost: Not frost tolerant. Protect from temperatures below ±15°C.
Best for: Indoor spaces, offices, shaded patios, bedrooms and low-light areas.
