Description

Sansevieria cylindrica — Growing Conditions

Light Requirements:
Sansevieria cylindrica thrives in bright, indirect light, but is highly adaptable and will also tolerate medium to low light. Avoid harsh, direct afternoon sun, which may scorch the leaves.

Watering:
A very drought-tolerant plant that prefers to dry out completely between waterings. Water every 2–4 weeks depending on season and indoor temperature. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems—keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy.

Soil:
Plant in a well-draining, gritty mix. A high-quality cactus and succulent soil or potting mix amended with perlite or coarse sand works best. Proper aeration is essential to prevent root rot.

Temperature:
Ideal temperature range is 18–29°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.

Humidity:
Sansevieria cylindrica tolerates all normal household humidity levels and does not require additional moisture. Avoid placing it in overly damp or poorly ventilated spaces.

Fertiliser:
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser once every 6–8 weeks. No feeding is required in winter.

Growth Habit:
A slow-growing, architectural plant with upright, cylindrical leaves that can reach 60–150 cm depending on pot size and conditions. Suitable for indoor décor, offices, and low-maintenance spaces.

Special Notes:

Highly tolerant of neglect and low light.

Excellent air-purifying plant.

Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
