Description
Dieffenbachia Maculata ‘Amy’ – Growing Conditions
Light Requirements:
Prefers bright, filtered light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. Tolerates medium indoor light but growth will slow in low light.
Watering:
Keep soil evenly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Ideal humidity is above 50%. Benefit from misting or placing near a humidifier in dry indoor environments.
Temperature:
Enjoys warm conditions between 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Soil:
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix. A blend with peat/coir, perlite, and pine bark works well to keep soil airy.
Fertilizer:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Do not overfertilize.
Growth Habit:
A compact cane-type Dieffenbachia with beautifully patterned green and creamy foliage. Perfect for indoor décor and shaded patios.
Toxicity:
Toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and small children.
