Description
🌱 Growing Conditions for Convolvulus sabatius (Ground Morning Glory)
Light:
Thrives in full sun, where it produces the most abundant flowers. Can tolerate light shade but may bloom less.
Soil:
Prefers well-draining soil, sandy or loamy. Tolerates poor soils but does best in moderately fertile conditions. Avoid heavy clay that stays wet.
Water:
Moderately drought-tolerant once established. Water regularly during hot, dry spells, but allow the soil to dry between waterings. Overwatering should be avoided.
Temperature:
Loves warm climates and tolerates heat well. Not frost-hardy – protect in winter or grow in pots that can be moved to shelter.
Growth & Habit:
A low-growing, trailing perennial that forms a spreading mat of silvery-green foliage. Produces masses of blue to violet trumpet-shaped flowers from spring through autumn. Excellent for groundcover, rockeries, retaining walls, or hanging baskets.
Maintenance:
Low-maintenance. Light trimming after flowering keeps the plant neat and encourages fresh growth.
