Description
Carpet Sedum (Sedum lineare)
Carpet Sedum is a hardy, mat-forming succulent perfect for creating lush, low-maintenance groundcover. Its trailing stems of fleshy green leaves with a hint of yellow spread quickly, providing excellent coverage in rock gardens, between stepping stones, or as a filler in containers.
Growing Conditions:
Sunlight: Prefers full sun to light shade. It thrives in sunny spots, where its colors become more vibrant.
Soil: Well-draining, sandy or gravelly soil is ideal. It tolerates poor soil conditions but struggles in waterlogged soil.
Watering: Drought-tolerant once established. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions.
Temperature: Carpet Sedum is heat and frost tolerant, making it suitable for various climates.
Maintenance: Little maintenance is required. Prune to control its spread, and avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.
Uses: Excellent for groundcover, rock gardens, borders, and containers. Also works well in green roofs.
Carpet Sedum adds an easy-care, vibrant touch to any landscape, creating a soft, succulent carpet in no time!
