Description
🌸 Alstroemeria Colorita® – Growing Conditions
Light Requirements:
Alstroemeria Colorita® thrives in full sun to partial shade. In hotter climates, some afternoon shade helps prolong flowering and protect foliage.
Soil:
Prefers well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Avoid heavy clay or overly wet conditions.
Watering:
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy, especially during the growing and blooming season. Reduce watering in winter when dormant.
Temperature & Climate:
Performs best in cool to moderate temperatures. Hardy in USDA Zones 8–10. In colder regions, mulch well or grow in containers that can be overwintered indoors.
Fertilizer:
Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during active growth (spring to late summer) to encourage continuous blooms.
Flowering Time:
Blooms spring through autumn, producing compact clusters of vibrant flowers ideal for borders, containers, or cut flower gardens.
Maintenance:
Deadhead spent flowers regularly and pull (don’t cut) faded stems to encourage new growth. Cut back after flowering for tidy regrowth.
Special Notes:
Drought tolerant once established.
Colorita® series is bred for compact growth and abundant flowering.
Great for pots, patios, and mixed beds.
