Red Raspberry ‘Heritage’ – Growing Conditions
The Heritage Raspberry is a popular, everbearing variety that produces two harvests a year – a light crop in early summer and a heavy flush from late summer into autumn.
Height & Spread: Grows 1.5–2m tall with a spread of about 60–90cm.
Sunlight: Prefers full sun for best fruiting, but can tolerate light partial shade.
Soil: Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Avoid waterlogged areas.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, especially during fruiting. Mulching helps retain moisture.
Frost: Hardy and tolerant of cold winters.
Support: Best grown against wires, trellises, or in a berry frame for easy harvesting.
Feeding: Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring and again after the summer harvest to encourage strong growth and abundant berries.
Produces sweet, juicy raspberries perfect for fresh eating, jams, desserts, and freezing.
