The pregnant onion, also known as Ornithogalum longibracteatum, is fascinating! Despite its name, it’s not actually an onion but rather a bulbous perennial plant native to South Africa. It’s called “pregnant” because it produces small bulblets on the flower stalk that resemble tiny onions. They thrive in bright indirect light and well-draining soil.
