Verbena – Ground Cover
Sun: Full sun – best flowering with plenty of direct sunlight.
Water: Moderate; water regularly while establishing, then allow the soil to dry slightly between watering.
Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil enriched with compost.

Growth: Fast-growing, spreading perennial groundcover.
Flowering: Spring to autumn, producing masses of colourful flowers.
Features: Low-growing, vigorous, long-flowering and excellent for creating a carpet of colour. Attracts pollinators.
Indigenous: No – commonly sold groundcover types such as Verbena peruviana are native to South America.
Edible: No
Care: Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous flowering. Trim back lightly when needed to maintain a neat, dense groundcover.
Frost: Semi-frost hardy; tolerance varies between varieties.
Best for: Groundcover, borders, rockeries, slopes, containers, hanging baskets and mass planting.
